Mack Daniel Sasser, born August 3, 1962, is an American former professional baseball pitcher who was nicknamed “The Hacker”. He played from 1987 to 1995 for the San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates as well as the New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, and New York Mets.
Following his playing career, Sasser was a baseball coach at Wallace Community College, Dothan, Alabama, and also the Athletic Director.
After the 1992 season, Sasser was given free agent status and signed a two-year deal with the Seattle Mariners. In 1993, he was a backup catcher in 83 games. He had a.218 average and hit in just.218. After that season, Seattle moved him to third-string catcher. He was only in three games in 1994 with the team, and went 0-3 before being released. Sasser signed a contract on May 20, 1994 with the San Diego Padres, but was then released one month later without ever having played in a single game. Sasser signed a contract with the Pirates again for 1995, but he played only 14 games and got four hits in 26 at bats before being released in May. He was then retired as an active player.

He played college baseball at Wallace Community College-Dothan and was selected in the fifth round by the San Francisco Giants in 1984 Major League Baseball Draft.
