Boosie Badazz made a surprising appearance at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday June 25, but he wasn’t alone.
The rapper brought his attorneys with him to the star-studded event, which was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Boosie explained that he needed his legal team by his side because he was still facing charges in California and Georgia for allegedly possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and for drug possession.
“I’ll go to [the] BET Awards, but I gotta go with my attorneys,” he said during an Instagram Live session after he was released from a San Diego jail on June 23.

Boosie spent over a week behind bars in connection with his gun charge, which he denied.
He said he was granted bond twice, but the prosecutor refused to let him go.
Boosie also claimed that he was mistreated and disrespected by the authorities.
He finally got out of jail after a judge decided to release him.
Boosie thanked God, his family, his lawyers and his fans for their support and prayers.
He also showed off his knees, which he said were “cherries” from praying so much.

Boosie new album release
As a gift to his fans, Boosie also dropped a new 10-track album called “First Day Back” on all DSPs on the day of his release.
The project features guest appearances from Lil Durk, DaBaby, YoungBoy Never Broke Again and more.
Boosie said he wanted to give his fans some new music to enjoy while he was dealing with his legal issues.
He also bragged about being the “hardest rapper in the game” and said he was ready to take over the summer.

Boosie didn’t perform at the show, but he did present an award to Lil Baby for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
He also mingled with other celebrities and posed for pictures with fans.
Boosie seemed to be enjoying his freedom and his success, but he still has to face the consequences of his actions.
He is due back in court in July for his gun charge in California and in August for his drug charge in Georgia.
